I know, I know…

I haven’t been here in a while. But it was for a good reason! …Ok, not really.

I’m trying to find a job in a laboratory somewhere. I KNOW there is a place for me in the professional world! :P….Ok, not really ~_~

Anywho. I do have a few new works I do want to show off, as well as a few new ideas for future endeavors.

I’ll start with older things first! For those that have not seen, check out my scarves!

Better and better…Plus Purple Paradise!

As you’ve probably guessed, I feel better. I’m at about 95% good now, lol. Still have a few demons on by back but I’ve pretty much worked myself out of that funk I was in. I want to thank Violet for all of her love and support!

I don’t have any art for you today, but I do have another surprise… Inspired by Violet’s kind words and Dendoo’s awesome wig pictures, I decided to take pictures of my own. I’m rarely in front of a camera, but I decided to be normal for at least today and take those myspace/facebook type pics lol.  Enjoy!

I call these…..Purple Paradise! I always secretly wanted to model. I might just do that one day, but for now I don’t mind having a little bit of fun. The wig is shoulder length in the front and down to my knees in the back, lol. Let me know what ya think. This is my first time really takin pictures for fun and I really got into it ;) Some of them have captions, some don’t. Hahah!

Just feeling off…

Lately I’ve been feeling more and more down on myself. I’m not too sure why….
We’ll I know why, but it’s not anything I would want to share. :P

Artfire.com is cool, but they’re very buggy with their deleted works. I’m sure that stuff will be fixed with time, but for now it’s aggravating.

But I do have some great news! Recetly I went to the art store and picked up a COPIC MARKER! Flesh tone, I was so excited. The Maiden Love ACEO above was my first work ever to feature the marker :D Yay! More coming soon, still feeling it out and discovering how to work with it.

I feel good about this. As some of you guys know my last bout with ebay didn’t go well at all!  But even at these prices (as in they only go for one bid) I’m satisfied with that result. I won’t feel like an art whore, LOL. And that’s what it’s all about for me…

I don’t make art for myself. I make art so that others can have a window to what’s in my head. I already see what’s there so I don’t need to see it again, lol. However, I always get all akward when I sell art…I don’t know, I just do. I want people to have my stuff, but I don’t want to sell myself short…I work really hard on all of my peices, and I want that to be appreciated. Yet, at the same time I don’t want to over do it in fear that my art will never get sold, then no one will get to see the window….

So in short, I hope these sell, even if only one person bids. That way someone can have my work, even at this reduced price. I’ll be happy :)

CP Resolution Revolution.

Aaaalright! I want to thank everyone here and on Redbubble for your lovely comments and suggestions on my last post. Through you guys I have come to a decision. My next brand of Colored pencils will be, dum dum dum!

STAEDTLER® Colour Pencils

They were the most recommended and the most praised for being creamy, durable and blendable. I even found a good site where I can purchase them. Though I want to thank everyone for their suggestions. The problems was many of the brands were only found in the UK. At least with Staedtler they ship out of the UK :P.

Also I want to thank Shannon and JessieM for some lovely techical tips on the proper care of pencils and penciled works! (Got me a Razor blade and I need to pick up some Finishing Spray XD!)

I also want to thank Violet for her help with my Markers issue.

Copics it is!

Though I’ll have to wait until I can afford them ;).

Now on to other things.

FINALLY I finished a piece that I had been working on for about three days straight. It was for a competition on the Bubble, and I’m pretty satisfied with the results. Here it is,  Explodin’ Rainbows!

This was alot of fun and I really got to use my Prismacolor Pencils :D However, there was one casualty. It didn’t even make it all the way through before my Pigma Brush Tip Pen was in flames….and any attempt to revive it only ended with alot of ink in my mouth (Yuck, don’t ask!)

So I ended up having to use a sharpie instead :P Nonetheless, I am so happy with the artwork. It’s available in two forms, Prints and the Original. Enjoy!

Colored Pencils…To color or not to color

I’ve been at a loss on what to do about my color pencils. Before I used RosaArt, the cheapest of the cheap…they were crap-tastic. Yet that’s what I used for most of my ACEOs.

Now though I’ve retired my RosaArts, I want to move up. In my closet I found some pencils in an art set I got for Christmas. Those are pretty cool, however the problem is that their not brand name, so I would have no idea how to go about getting more. Also while searching I found some Prismacolors. Those are like the cream of the crop! However, when I went to the Artstore (Micheals! XD) to look around the Prismacolor brand is like…a gazilliion dollars. I could never afford to maintain using Prismacolors….

So now I’m at a loss. I’m ok now with what I have, made this the other day.

Made it with a mix of Prismacolors and My Nonames. But as far as maintaining and growing my collection of colors, I can’t. Does anyone have any suggestions on a colored pencil brand that is afforable, yet reliable?

Oh and also I’m looking to get into Art Markers, what is a good brand for those? I want markers that are steady and that don’t make those over lining  marks (I HATE those!)

Ok I’ve been meaning to do this for a while!

Alright, there is this blog I discovered through the magic of twitter, Allover Art, who is currently doing a giveaway. The other day she had a post about how she makes them all  shiny and perfect.

Dude….Micheals….

Is anyone else here a Micheals fiend. Micheals is a place to get art supplies and anything associated with any handmaid product :P. A few months ago I didn’t even know that place existed, but it all started with a giftcard for Christmas :D. I didn’t even get to a Micheals until a few months later. But man, let me tell you.

My life has never been the same since :D

Not only is it an awesome store but through their website you can sign up to receive coupons. Usually the highest deal is 40% off, which is awesome. I ALWAYS go just to use those 40% off coupons. But to day I feel like I hit the lottery, 50% OFF! Holy Jesus!

Spastic Art.

I’ve been so everywhere for the past few days, and as a result my artwork in hindsight is just random as well, lol. Today though I feel great, so I’m going to see if I can really get some work done! I have a work that I want to finish so that I can give it to my friend at her birthday party on Sunday, :P. That one hopefully I can finish today. However, I also have a work that I should be working for towards the comic book…*Sigh* decisions, decisions. :D

I’ve found that I really have been twittering alot more lately, so make sure to add me there. That’s the only place to get the real low down scoop on Vestque ;).

I’ve also started sketching for a painting, so stay tuned for that! Alright, I’m off to start working! Might Chat it up here later if I finish somethin :P

The Bound Series…

How is everyone today? I haven’t made a post in a little bit, huh? Well it feels like forever. I’ve really been focusing on making hand made items. I even busted out some of my ol boondoggle for keychains (Don’t know what that is, look it up, lol) I created a new series of ACEO’s called the “Bound Series.” It’s a series of women being bound or held by red ribbon in one way or another. “The Puppet Master” is the first entry.

“Taut” is my second entry. I think I might like this one the most, but that’s just personal, lol.  The difference between this series of cards and my other ACEOs is the fact that I used no colored pencils, only graphite, a red gel pen and my ink pen. That’s it. That’s Vestque being a minimalist, lol. But I am happy with the way these came out and they seem to be well received. I always worry about what people will think…

The last and final entry of the series is “Bound.” It’s the series’ namesake. I’ve been told that although she is tied up her stance is unusually confident. The caption for this one would be “She is immobilized, but is it to protect her from us, or us from her?” Something like that, lol. I’m selling each card (the original cards) for $9 each on Artfire.com separately. However I do have a listing for all of them together. I made it so that if someone bought the whole series they would save $5 as compared to buying them separately. How cool is that, and I love artfire for allowing things like that to happen. :P

As you can notice I’ve now started to pick up my digital camera. Wow, I’ve never taken piccies before, not like this. I have to admit that I do take a certain amount of pride in the pic above, LOL. Yay! But yeah. I’m slowly but surely becoming an Artfire junkie…I can’t help it! Everyone is so nice, lol! Alright, alright. More from me coming soon. I have a ton of ideas just floating around in my head :D I’ll be sure to snap more piccies of things in the meantime ;P
